A couple of weeks ago I was invited by the coordinator of the Group of Young Adults "Epifania" to give a talk on the meaning of vocation. Most of the members of the group are from Guatemala. One of them came with his 6 month old baby, because his wife was working.
During the talk and the conversation that followed, as I was looking at them, I realized how lonely they are in this country. They join the group to be together and in this way overcome their loneliness.
Mientras les hablaba y ellos me hablaban admiré la constancia que tienen en reunirse para ayudarse y al mismo tiempo sentía dolor al verlos tan solos en esta gran nación, sin su familia, sin los amigos de toda la vida en su tierra.
Después de hablarles tuvimos una conversación sobre algunas preguntas que hicieron. Una de las cosas que les dije es que no se creyeran tan malos, que seguramente había mucho de bueno en ellos. Les gustó oir esto, aunque quedaron sorprendidos.
Creo que todos necesitamos oir que nos hablan en positivo, esto nos ayuda a tener alas para volar, para disfrutar de la libertad que el Señor nos dio al crearnos. Regina rmi.
