I Have No Virtue to Offer You

Maria Antonia Paris

Me pongo a mirar nuestra iglesia de hoy. Necesidades? Males? Muchos.
Girl, that is not easy!

One night, while I was at prayer pleading to Christ Crucified to remedy the necesities of the Holy Church, which at that time were many: I offered Him my life in sacrifice as I had done many times... but as I had no virtues to offer Him, I begged him to deign to teach me what I should do in order to please Him and give Him glory accomplishing His most holy will.

Different things come to mind as I read this text.
The Church has many necessities, ills, evils... at the same time I think we are that Church.
Antonia offers her life in sacrifice. She is the one who sees it and wants to remedy them. Because she is aware of it, she knows she has to do something.
To do God's will... Very difficult but not impossible.

So, at the end, what are the evils you see present at the church and what is the Lord calling you to do?

Song (c) Colleen Fulmer.

1. We'll claim the joy in dancing, the freedom our God gives;
In search of milk and honey, for slavery's at an end.
We won't go back,
We won't go back.
We have crossed and we are here, we won't go back.
Lai lai lai lai, lai lai lai lai lai. Lai lai lai lai, lai lai lai lai lai.

SO DAUGHTERS, LEAD THE DANCE.
SING THE SONGS AND PLAY THE TAMBORINE IN PRAISE.
OUR GOD WANTS FREEDOM FOR ALL.
LAI LAI LAI LAI, LAI LAI LAI LAI LAI. LAI LAI LAI LAI, LAI LAI LAI LAI LAI.

2. We'll shout "No!" to their systems,
Their wars and bombs and guns.
We'll clasp our hands as daughters, as mother, sisters, sons.
We'll stand as one,
We'll stand as one.
To guard our children from their madness we'll stand as one.
Lai lai lai lai, lai lai lai lai lai. Lai lai lai lai, lai lai lai lai lai.

3. We're exiles from our nations, for they have chosen death;
But we will work for justice and claim more vict'ries yet.
The earth's our home,
The earth's our own.
There are no bound'ries with our God, the earth's our home.
Lai lai lai lai, lai lai lai lai lai. Lai lai lai lai, lai lai lai lai lai.
