Retiro de confirmacion en Corpus Christi, parroquia donde nuestra hermana Carmen ha trabajado por 34 años. Parroquia que me acogio cuando llegue de Colombia hace 24 años. Han pasado muchas generaciones por alli, mi familia sigue en esta parroquia y ahora mi sobrina, que ya tiene 14 años, se va a confirmar. Aunque ahora trabajo en la parroquia San Lazaro, me alegro que pude preparar este retiro con jovenes de mi parroquia y de Corpus.
Corpus Christi (Miami, FL) is the parish where our Sr. Carmen Alvarez has been ministering for the past 34 years. Carmen has had the blessing to accompany many generations of families. This year there are 63 candidates for confirmation and they had their retreat on Saturday, February 26. Corpus Christi is also my "home" parish, where I was welcomed in 1987 when I came to the United States with my family. My family is still there, my mother, my sister and niece and nephew. My niece Ana Rita who is 14 years old is doing her confirmation this year and she was also part of this retreat. Presently I am ministering at San Lazaro and togheter with the youth group from Corpus Christi we lead this retreat.

I am so grateful for the seeds that Sr. Carmen, Fr. Jose Luis Menendez (our pastor for 23 years) have planted along with so many catechists, youth ministers and the priests that serve. They have truly been a gift from God to the parish. I celebrated on Saturday been part of this family and the gifts of our chidren, those who went to serve and those who will be confirmed on March 18th.
