Sacramento de la Reconciliacion

Decidimos hacer el día de la reconciliación para los niños de Primera Comunión este día de Ramos (gran locura). Invitamos a los padres y padrinos de los cinco niños para una mañana de retiro y preparación para el sacramento. Los niños, padres y padrinos compartieron momentos de oración, de lectura, de trabajo y de juego. 
On Palm Sunday our Mission celebrated the Sacrament of Reconciliation with those children receiving First Communion this year. Parents, godparents and children prepared for this sacrament by being part of a day of retreat.
Repasar con los padres el sacramento de la Reconciliación fue interesante. La parábola del Hijo Prodigo los ayudó a descubrir que el Padre amoroso siempre está a la espera. Los mandamientos los llevaron a descubrir que siempre hay algo que hay confesar. Muchos dicen que no han hecho nada malo, especialmente que nunca han robado o matado. Repasarlos fue muy positivo.
Al final, ver cómo los padres llevaban a los hijos al confesionario y los esperaban al terminar, fue muy emocionante. Se sintieron acompañados en ese momento tan importante.
At the end of the experience, each parent took their child to the confessionary. Close by, they waited until their child came out. Watching the excitement of each child to be received by their parents was a beautiful experience.

Misiones de Cuaresma con Adultos

Hola,
Para ayudar a los adultos con su caminar hacia la Pascua, invitamos al padre Charles, capellán de Mayo Clínica en Jacksonville. 
Estuvo el domingo compartiendo con ellos la importancia de acercarse a Dios no solamente en palabras sino con buenas obras. Les enfatizo la importancia de una buena confesión y de tener tiempos de oración.
Last Sunday, our parish had a Lenten Mission for the adults. Father Charles spent some time sharing with them the importance of practicing what we believe, the sacrament of reconciliation and having a life of prayer.
En otros salones estuvieron los niños también compartiendo sobre la importancia de la oración y de saberse comportar bien.
Fue una buena experiencia pues los adultos tuvieron la oportunidad de escuchar un mensaje concreto sobre la Cuaresma.

Pascua Infantil/Children's Easter

Hola,
Esta semana los niños de Mayo tuvieron su descanso de primavera. Una semana en la casa sin saber qué hacer. Decidimos, los jóvenes de la parroquia y yo, hacer una Pascua no juvenil sino infantil- o para los niños.


Spring break, a time when children stay home, drive their parents crazy because they do not know what to do. The Mission of Our Lady of Guadalupe decided to bring them together and to celebrate Holy Week at their level.
Comenzamos con el Jueves Santo, el lavaotorio de los pies y la cena con los discípulos. Los pequeños comenzaron con el “Hosana” del Domingo de Ramos.
Ayer terminamos celebrando la Resurrección. Los jóvenes me dijeron que tenía que ser un día alegre, de actividad movida. So, a moverse un buen rato. Despues de representar el Viernes Santo con las estaciones, nos fuimos afuera para jugar y romper las bombas (globos) llenas de agua. Ante el calor que habia afuera, un poco de agua fue la mejor manera de celebrar la resurrección.
After explaining and celebrating each day of Holy Week, the last day, the kids had a fun day outside. Resurrection was celebrated with balloons filled with waters. Since it was hot outside, getting wet was the best way to celebrate Easter.
Gracias a Stephanie, Miguel, Alex, Exalin Cynthia y Manuel por la ayuda que brindaron. It was a beautiful experience.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY CLARETIANAS

Today February 11, 2012 marks the 56^th anniversary of our arrival to United States. It coincided with our 4^th meeting with the lay collaborators in ministry. It was a joyous occasion for all of us. Regina presented the history of the Claretian Sisters in USA from 1956 till now. The presentation brought up a lot of questions from the group who wanted to know more about who we were and how we developed in the states over the years. After the presentation Vivian read to them the blog entry of the Sisters in Tilomar about the First Stone for the preschool and showed the picture Inocencia had posted in the blog. They were very excited about it. We gave a report of where we are in our efforts, getting close to the first $1,000.00 for the Preschool which we hope to send soon.  Considering the members of the group are mostly people who are retired and living on very limited means and the younger ones are undocumented getting by through odd jobs here and there, this was a big effort for them. They wanted to do more and came up with two activities in the future, one a garage sale in the parish and a movie night selling food.

Before the time for vespers they had brought some finger food and a cake and sang “happy anniversary Claretianas” to us. Prayer was a beautiful moment, they truly enjoy the quiet peaceful time and during the prayer of the faithful they expressed their gratitude to be part of our spirituality as well as the success of the mission in Tilomar.

We parted hoping to meet again on march 10^th, when we will present our sister Teresita Albarrcin and have a mini retreat with exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and sharing of the WORD.
